Day 2 Sunday October 19, 2008
PART I – ADVENTURE & FAN CLUB IN THE DAWN

3.30 AM
I and my friend got up, quickly dressed and called taxi from Daejeon to Gyeryong.

4.30 AM
Leave the hotel to the festival. So adventureous !!! It was very dark amidst the mountain area and hardly saw other cars.

5.00 AM
Arrive Gyeryong, taxi driver dropped us at the gate which was the main public entrance. Unfortunately, it was closed!!! We are so scareful. Taxi driver couldnot speak English at all. No one there. Suddenly, a soldier came and knocked the window. He said something in Korean. Taxi driver turn to me and said something in Korean too. They don’t speak English at all. You know?.. Gong YOO name saved my life. I didn’t understand what they said at all but I told the guard soldier that I came for Gong YOO signature and used body language “writing on the paper”. He said “Oh, Gong Yoo?” I said Yes! Gong Yoo. He nodded and told the taxi driver in Korean to drive to make a u-turn and drive to somewhere else instead. He also indicated the direction by his hand. That’s why I understood. See? How GY saved us. What a wonderful name!!!

Luckily, we went there on Saturday. I recalled that there was another gate which not allow public to drive through and guessed that he will take us there. Whereas driving along the mountain amidst the darkness, we saw a group of people near the military entrance. They were sitting on the side walk in front of the gate. Oh! they must be GY fanclub. Thanks God. Finally, we arrived the right place. Thanks to OC who told me that they will get together somewhere in the morning to get the queue card. We therefore walked straight to them. GY fans were very nice and well managed. I understood Korean and Japanese. Why? Unbelievable!!! We don’t know them, we couldn’t speak their languages but we communicated with them by speaking “Gong YOO language”. It works!!!

One fan asked us in Korean ” …………” We: ??????????? Fan: “…………….. Gong YOO?”
We: Oh Yes! Gong YOO.
They said something in Korean again and pointed us to walk to the back.
A group of people lied down on the ground floor, covered with the blankets. Someone got up to ask us ……. (KR again). I said “Gong YOO.” We come from Thailand. Do yo speak English? She surprised that we come from Thailand, said welcome and wrote #56 on my wrist. My friend got #57. We were afraid of that we were not in the 50 people so we asked her how many people will get GY’s signature? She said 50. We disappointed and said “so we won’t get his signature coz we are #56-57?”
You know I almost jumped when she said “No No No this is the sequence for the whole group but there are 8 people come for … (singer’s name — another Ent soldier). You come for GY so you are #48 and #49 and entitled to meet him. There is only one left for GY. (Weeeeeeee!!!! I was very very glad at that time. I and my friend hugged each other.)

5.00-8.00AM
As we were not allowed to enter in the festival. We therefore must wait outside. It was very cold around 8-10 celcius. We wore only long-sleeve T-shirt and thin jacket whereas other fans (Japanese and Korean) wore coats and also blankets. Our body shook without control. We were almost frozen. We didn’t prepare thick clothes coz we came there on Sat, it was very hot at 25 celcius!!

8.00AM
Soldier called us to line up to get the official queue. As I said, fan club is well managed in advance. We lined up in the same sequence as we got the number from the FC leader earlier.
Then, two senior soldiers came and gave us the queue card.

8.15AM
We got the official tickets and go back to hotel.

End of PART I. The purpose is to lead you guys to that atmosphere like you were there with me. I will continue PART 2 sharing about GY in the following reply.

Day 2 Sunday October 19, 2008
PART II: One Moment with Gong YOO

1.00 PM
Soldiers pulled the iron fence to the autograph area. I and my friend, again stood in front line, intentionally to take GY photos or some clips.

1.20 PM
GY is coming. We are very excited to meet him in person. Unfortunately, soldiers called us to line up which I must stand in the back.
So I moved from the best location to the long line that I can’t see GY at all.

1.30 PM
GY already come. Out heart start beating harder and harder. JP fans were gone from the queue. They ran to watch GY. Fans disappeared from the line from time to time. Soldiers didn’t prohibit at all. So, I and my friend did like other fans too – left a friend in the queue and ran to see GY and went back to the queue and stand by instead of our friend. We did like this around 30 minutes. However, we couldn’t see him clearly.
It was the last day. There are many people there, around 250 people. What we could do was just see him through the narrow distance between necks of other people. Very difficult to take photo coz there were around 3 rows in front of us.
Soldiers were very strict and stand on guard all the time.

14.00PM
GY put his hat off. Fans screamed again. (On Sunday, fans was more quiet than Saturday eventhough participants were more.) I think GY was hot coz I saw he wiped his sweat on the neck and forehead with his right hand. Oh folks, I wanna wipe his sweat with myself. Wanna give him iced coffee and massage.

The line was shorten and shorten. Finally, GY was in my sight. So excited. My heart beated harder and harder, quicker and quicker.
I forgot everything. I forgot what I prepared to say. I just looked at Gong Yoo. He looks naturally handsome and more manly than Saturday coz he didn’t shave his mustache.

Our GY looked bored on Sunday. He rarely gave us a killer smile which usually make us melted. I saw he sighed and expressed like he wanna quickly finish this duty. I think he was tired coz my friend saw him in TVnews wearing Korean traditional dress in Busan’s event on Sat morning and came back to the army festival in the afternoon. He also updated his Cyworld on Sat night. You may know his emotion from his message. 5-day autograph may be boring for him. He was a bit frustrated but tried to continue his job.

14.03PM
I was allowed to enter in the autograph area which 5 preceding fans were waiting there. I waited for a while and ultimately sit in front of him.

I started. “Sawasdee ka.” (Say Hi in Thai.)
GY: ??? face (try to listen what I was saying)
Aorly: Sawasdee ka. I come from Thailand especially for YOO.
GY: Thailand? Ohh.
Aorly: “Yes. Just arrived yesterday” (How silly I was, I forgot everything at that moment.)

In the beginning, GY seemed stunned but I don’t know why. Not sure because of language or tired.

But after 2 days in Korea, I found that when we speak English, several Koreans won’t express that they understand what we said or not. Instead, they acted like they don’t know English and still say some words in Korean. But after 2-3 minutes passed, they start speak English with me. I found that they actually understand us but need a short time to adapt to different language and think what they should answer or talk to us.

I think GY spoke Korean with 47 fans and suddenly meet me speaking English with him. He therefore was temporarily blurred. But just for a while coz after that he talked to me in English. His English accent was not typical Korean. But the answer was quite short.

I handed in my photobook for his autograph (and also my letter to him.) This is a letter for you.
GY: letter? (??? on his face again but take it from my hand.)
GY started to write “To:” on my photobook and ask for my name.
I told him “AOR”
GY: E? (and started writing “l just one line before complete it to E” on the Photobook.)
I told him: No no no not “E”. it’s “A” “A-O-R”
GY rephrased “E-O-R”?
I therefore stood up and quickly wrote down my name on his pen box beside him.
GY: Oh “A” ok I got it. and then he wrote my name and signed.
GY: He looked at me. (only 1 foot distance. What a handsome guy!!! Wanna kiss him so much.)
So I said: please also write some words for me.
GY: Some words? (??? eyes&face)
I: Yes. A sentence.
GY: Oh I see. Then he start writing “I”. When I saw it I said “WOW” coz he wrote “I love you!!” I’m very very glad to get this. He smiled a bit.

We were allowed to get another one from him. A Korean fan club suggested me to ask him sign on my bag (Adidas rucksack). Thanks to her. It was great idea.

GY signed on my bag again. This time, he could remember how to write my name coz he neither asked or looked at the photobook. You may notice that when GY signed, he usually write his real name under his signature. So he asked me which one I prefer.
GY: Do you want me to write this name? “Gong Ji Cheol”? He pointed to my letter which I addressed to “Gong Ji Cheol”.
I said: Anyone. Gong Ji Cheol, Gong YOO, Whatever you like.
GY: He therefore wrote “Gong” in Korean. (His real name spell “KONG” in English. I saw this on his uniform.)

When he finished signing on my bag, he looked at me. I said Thank you very much” and then we shook hand.
I also told him while I was slowly walking away from him: “You have many fans in Thailand.”
GY: Really? (Very good accent like in OFD. He said exactly the same as another Thai YOO gal experienced.)
I said Yes with rising tone to confirm him. “About a thousand.” (Is it too high? I plus other fans who are not our website members but they like GY too.)
GY: Oh…
(Actually I intended to shake hand and say “Take care and keeping fighting.” but I totally forgot what I prepared. I also temporarily forgot his face, eyes, at that moment. I almost got heart attack due to excitement.)

He has long-finger beautiful hands. His right hand that I touched was very soft. Before meet him, my hand was wet because I was too excited. But I dried it with my T-shirt. We also took chewing gum before enter in. Some Korean fans washed their mouths with listerine or another brand. We wanna ensure that our breath was fresh enough. It’s funny why we do like this. A Koren student who called taxi for me in the morning dressed up in sexy style, totally changed from the morning look. Most fans took a bath and came with new dresses (Some live in such town). In contrast, I and my friend still wore morning dress.

This took not too long. It happened very quickly but a bit longer than some fans due to our English. I then leaved out and still in the blur mode. Although GY’s mood on Sunday was not as good as on Saturday, this couldn’t erase my good memories about GY in the past. I tried to understand and still support him. I think I got valuable memories on Saturday more than I expected.

My friend was next queue. I won’t tell her story but I asked her to share that moment with us. She promised to write for us.

Bye for now.
Love YOO and you all.
