Lucky GYapanese
during the early stage of my GY-craving one of the articles that caught my attention that was made public late last year was about the 2008 GY Calendar – it’s not just any ordinary calendar, it’s really special – but with my standard – it is really. really. really special… weh? because it was sold only in Japan. you lucky japs!
here are a couple of write ups about it from http://www.hancinema.net
S. Korean actor to release calendar for sale in Japan (2007/10/30)
SEOUL, Oct. 30 (Yonhap) — Popular South Korean actor Gong Yoo will put a 2008 calendar featuring himself on the Japanese market next month, his management agency said Tuesday (Oct. 30).
SidusHQ said, “The ‘2008 Gong Yoo Calendar’ will be available for purchase in Japan on Nov. 23, and the calendar will show both Gong Yoo’s refined style and a range of looks including the more informal and personal”.
The actor is best known in Japan for his role in the Japanese movie, “Like a Dragon”, and his starring role in the hit Korean TV drama, “Coffee Prince”, which was aired earlier this year.
The calendar will feature pictures of Gong on the streets of Seoul, capturing a sense of the season and showing a vibrant feeling of movement. A collection of these photographs will also go on sale in Japan late December.
Calendar featuring S. Korean actor becomes sellout in Japan (2007/11/27)
SEOUL, Nov. 27 (Yonhap) — South Korean actor Gong Yoo has proven to be enjoying an explosion of popularity in Japan, after a 2008 calendar featuring himself sold like hot cakes, his management agency said on Tuesday.
According to the agency SidusHQ, originally 2,000 copies of the “2008 Gong Yoo Calendar” were expected to sell, but three times that amount were ordered by Japanese fans. More copies of the calendar are quickly being reprinted to meet the high demand.
after knowing about it i googled like crazy for any images of the alleged infamous calendar. there were only a few sites but all of them posted less than a handful of pages… such tormentors!
just to be sure i still checked yesasia.com and the item is already sold out and there are no more re-printings…
well all is not lost [*smile widens*] because i have it – yep! the GY fan club i recently joined in – they have it and i didn’t lose a second and downloaded each and every single page of it… now, who’s lucky?
so here’s a glimpse…
bitin ba?

Certified GYEH Fanatic
i spent my weekend googling over the worldwide web over my jurassic pc via 31.2kb dial-up, haha pathetic.. i wasn’t considering of upgrading my pc memory and subscribing to a dsl until now!!! grrr… i never was a web surfer addict, coz when i get home from work i barely touch my pc – i just let the dust settle on it [kc buong araw eh pc ang kaharap ko sa work..]
until this weekend, when i tried to open video streams about GY, or when i try to download the coffee prince soundtrack – to no avail… waaahhh
hahaha! let me be crazy even once in my life – this is just temporary 8D
forum sites are everywhere and they’re mostly the content of a web search for gong yoo (and yoon eun hye)… the forums are helpful most of the time, i get to download pix, read news and get more info about my GY and YEH.. but some forums are nonsense. then i accidentally came across a site that will only allow members to proceed, i ignored it first then clicked on the other search results…la-la-la
then i was again facing my 19” flat monitor (only my pc monitor, keyboard, and mouse are newer hehe), once again googled GY and i came across the same exclusive site, so i skimmed through it and what caught my attention was that they allow users to setup fan clubs for k-pop and much better since news/article postings are in english! it will also allow you to choose which fan club you want to be a member of and i wasn’t surprised to see that GY and YEH have their individual fan clubs in that site. so without hesitation i signed-up to be a member… ta-dah!
i can’t believe it.. i did it!!
i never had imagined that i’ll ever be a fan club member… [uuuyy first time haha!]
just proud to say that i am now a certified GYEH fanatic!
… watch out for more of my GYEH craziness …

one of the symptoms of a fanatic that i have to indulge myself into is surfing and searching the web for everything i could get hold of gong yoo. oppa!!!
this entry is already a month late – it’s about GY entering the military
according to the month-old news, GY entered the military on january 14 and will be in a 6-week bootcamp. too bad i missed it when it was aired in arirang tv, ouirgue!

GY@coffee.prince
i’m addicted to coffee… i.e. coffee prince… ![]()
another korean-novela has deprived me of sleep but filled my monotonous weekends…
yoon eun-hye who charmed most of us in princess hours as shin chae-kyung will charm us again in this, what do they call it?, trendy pop drama “coffee prince 1st shop” as go eun-chan but not as a pretty preppy princess but as a free and tenacious boyish-looking girl… but who charmed me most is gong yoo (or gong ji cheol) or GY as i fancy calling him… he’s so HOT! i mean very manly… ahem… hehe he acted as choi han-gyeol and i really love his acting, i was so moved when he cried and amused when he smiles… and i love his muscled-arms… hahaha! he’s got a killer smile, i tell you… i actually died several times hahaha! lol! korn-ball!
it has driven me to a new level of fixation, i did not only have someone buy the original dvd copy for me in SG (thanks lei!) but i also searched for gong yoo and yoon eun-hye’s profile in friendster hahaha! so you might notice that yoon eun-hye is now in my “I’m a fan of” corner in my friendster profile and i’ve bookmarked gong yoo as well… hehe i just hope they’re for real
i’ve read that there might be a sequel, and i’m really looking forward to it (i hope retaining the main casts) but i’ve also read that gong yoo is serving the military and it may be another two years before he gets out… so it’s true that in South Korea there are three things that are certain for men… death… taxes… and military service… oh well too bad… i mean good for his country but too bad for the coffee prince fans…
uhmmm… what else can i say but i have a lot of time to spare and i’m going to watch it over and over again…
